starting school for new century

assalamualaikum and very good evening

today is 3rd of January 2011..it's not too late for me to wish all of you a happy new year.

For us as a muslim, today is 27th day we celebrate a new hijriyyah year 1432h.

day to day, month to month, year to year, time will continue forward without turning back.

and we as a muslim shud remind ourself to be a better person than previous day.

today i've started my class with Prof. Azis , FST4922 chemical and technology of fats and oil at 8 int he morning until 10am.

he introduced us about oil, saturated oil, unsaturated oil, ratio between them, oil origin whether from plant or animal, type of plant and animal oil, condition of oil, a lil bit about his achievement in life and ' a big delicious pizza on the glass board. (instead of white board and black board, our faculty use glass board.why? is it cheaper compare to white and black board??). We also learned about how precious of palm oil that produced highly in Malaysia and new research on Pittaya seed oil. During lab session of this course, we will have many industrial visit. It is enjoyable to do 'experiment' outside since we are not have any field work previously.

The next class is FST 4924 which is dairy technology taught by Prof. Yazid our beloved dean.

In his class, we learned about importance of dairy industry to people around the world. Prof. said, Malaysia only produced 2% of liquid milk. The rest, we export from New Zealand, Australia, Dutch and India. Dairy industry is important for people especially infant and toddlers who become major consumer of dairy product. In any previous war, we can see that, the first place they will bombed is Dairy @ Milk Factory. They claimed that the factory produced biological weapon.

Colin Powell stated "It was a biological weapons facility, of that we are sure".

White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater stated "That factory is, in fact, a production facility for biological weapons" and "The Iraqis have hidden this facility behind a façade of baby-milk production as a form of disinformation."

Of course it has full of microorganisms but it is not true that all the microbiology is used for war weapon. In dairy industry, we used microbe for yogurt production, infant milk production, ice-cream production and many more. Instead, milk is the best medium for microbe to live in it because it contains all nutrient they need. This issue become very 'famous' propaganda for them (German, US and etc) to attack any part of world they want by attacking first milk factory.

You might asking why they bomb milk factory first before others, right? Ok, let me tell you. When milk factory has been bombed, so there's no milk production. Any exportation from outside will be stopped. Those who are consume milk especially infants and toddlers will be suffered. Then, they will cry for milk all over the night until mothers and fathers do not know what they gonna do to stop them from crying. This will spark more problem among the citizen.

Back to this course, this course will expose us about dairy industry, of course. From raw milk, dairy product until it turn to food for human consumption. not feeding for animal consumption ok? During our lab session, we will go to cow field and see how to squeeze 'tetek lembu' to get milk. May be we can get chance to squeeze it using our hands! despite, we also will learn how to turn liquid milk to yoghurt, ice-cream, cheese, milk powder and other dairy product. Furthermore, we also have a chance to visit dairy company such as Fonterra, F&N dairies, and dutch lady company.

If we have enough budget, we can go to Friendly Farms, Langkawi to see cheese making industry at there!!!

waaa so excited to undergo all those subject.but ive to remind myself not to enjoy too much because this is my final semester and i have a tones of works to be done!!! FYP project. thesis writing, viva, seminar...huh...sesak kepala~~
